Raccoon Valley Radio received several awards at the 2019 Iowa Broadcast News Association Convention Saturday night.

For small market radio Greene County News Director Coltrane Carlson received first place for Use of Actuality, Dallas County News Director Joe Cerwinske received second place for Farm and Agribusiness and honorable mention for Excellence in Reporting. Guthrie County News Director Sam McIntosh received honorable mention for Spot News, and James Maertens received honorable mention for Use of Actuality. Carlson, Cerwinske, and Maertens also received honorable mention for Best Newscast, and Nate Gonner received honorable mention for Sports Play-By-Play. The annual IBNA convention took place in Johnston. IBNA is a nonprofit association of radio and television directors, reporters, producers, public relations professionals and others from Iowa and adjacent states, working together to improve electronic media news for their stations and the public.
