Guthrie County Extension and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is partnering for an event celebrating Earth Day later this month.

Earth Day will be on April 22nd, but kids can get a head start on learning how to better protect our planet by reusing materials at an Earth Day Engineering Day Camp on Thursday, April 18th. This camp will feature hands-on challenges to “upcycle” common materials to find a new purpose. The event is open to 3rd-8th graders and will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Springbrook State Park. Snacks and supplies will be provided, but attendees are asked to bring a sack lunch. Cost to attend is $5, and you can register by contacting Extension Youth Coordinator Mollie Clark at 641-747-2276 or clarkm@iastate.edu.
