Through the first three games of the season, the Greene County boys’ soccer team has scored 26 goals. According to statistics posted online at QuikStatsiowa.com, the 8-2/3 goals per game the Rams are averaging is the best in the state.

Individually, Junior Gutierrez has 12 goals, which is tied for first in the state. His average of four goals per game leads Iowa, and his 29 points is also at the top of the list. Luis Velazco has eight goals and is tied for the eighth most goals scored. His goals per game average of 2-2/3 is tied for third.

The Rams are scheduled to play in Huxley vs. Ballard at six o’clock tonight.

Greene County’s high school track & field squads are also scheduled for action today. The girls are to go to Perry and the boys to Saydel High School in Des Moines. Both meets are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
