Organizations have the opportunity to thank people who lend their time, talent, and resources during National Volunteer Week.
Kim Durst with the American Cancer Society says the organization is fortunate to have so many volunteers through Relay for Life of Guthrie County. Durst considers the committee members, teams, and sponsors all to be volunteers, and says she can’t thank them enough for their support, “Volunteers inspire us. They show us each and every day how one person can make a difference and they are changing the course of cancer. Our volunteers are the reason we will achieve our mission to save lives, celebrate life, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. And we just can’t thank everyone enough, so from the bottom of my heart I thank each and every one of our volunteers here in Guthrie County.”
Relay for Life of Guthrie County was ranked ninth in the nation per capita in 2018 for the approximate $65,500 that was raised for the American Cancer Society. This year’s Relay for Life will be on June 22nd at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds.
