Friday, April 5th

1:02am: A Traffic Stop was performed at Elm and 220 th Street resulting in Christine Moran of Perry being cited with, “Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”

2:18am: An officer attempted to conduct a Traffic Stop on 220th Street, just west of Elm Street, but the vehicle refused to yield. The vehicle began to accelerate when the officer activated his siren. The officer gave chase westbound on 220th Street after the fleeing driver. The officer reached speeds of over 120 mph following the vehicle. The subject turned south on J Ave. A train was going through the area and blocked access at the RR Crossing. The driver turned around and headed back north on J Ave, with the officer still giving chase. They turned west on 220th Street and continued to Easton Avenue, where the subject west south into Scranton. The vehicle turned west on 9th Street and the officer lost sight of it. Officers and a deputy checked Scranton, but the vehicle was not located. The officer is still investigating the event.

7:44am: Tasha Monthei reported a Careless Driver on West Lincoln Way Street. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

8:21am: Tiffany Kersey Johnson requested an officer at 205 North Oak Street for a Civil Property Dispute. The officer was able to mediate the situation to a resolution.

8:26am: An officer located an Audible Alarm sounding at 400 West State Street. The residence was secure and the alarm company cleared the alarm.

11:19am: The Jefferson Vet Clinic captured a stray dog in the 1900 Block of North Wilson Ave. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.

11:40am: A Traffic Stop at Stanford and Elm Streets resulted in Craig Arthur of Ogden being cited for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability and Failure to Carry Registration Card.”

1:56pm: A Traffic Stop was performed in the 200 Block of West Lincoln Way after an officer was advised by NCIC that one of the owners had outstanding Arrest Warrants in Iowa. Curtis Gene Hoyt, 54 of Perry was arrested on two warrants for, “Assault” (Perry PD) and “Fail to Appear” (OWI Dallas County). Hoyt was also Charged by the Jefferson officer with, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious, Driving While Revoked – Serious, and Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Simple.” The other driver, Charles Bradshaw of Jefferson was cited for, “Fail to Have a Valid License and Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.” Both motorcycles were towed and impounded. During an “Impound Inventory” an officer located a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, mushrooms, unknown pills, and drug paraphernalia. The officer will be having the items tested.

2:13pm: Kim Jacobson advised an unknown subject was dumping garbage bags in a city dumpster she had rented. The officer looked through the bags and located mail to a male subject living in the area. He was advised not to use the dumpster in the future by the officer.

2:14pm: An officer assisted the Juvenile Court Officer in gathering a Urine Analysis Collection Kit from a juvenile at the courthouse.

7:35pm: An officer unlocked a vehicle with a small child locked inside at 304 South Oak Street.

7:57pm: A caller advised of a female and male involved in a physical fight in the parking lot at 102 South Grimmell Road. The officers did not locate anyone in the area.

9:19pm: Megan Sheeder advised of juveniles were riding on a hood of a vehicle in the area of the 300 Block of Gallop Road. The officer checked the area, but did not locate the reported vehicle.

10:32pm: A Traffic Stop was performed at Elm and Lincoln Way Streets resulting in Jill Siefken of Manson being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”

Saturday, April 6th

1:28am: An officer secured an Open Door after checking the business at 300 West McKinley Street.

5:03am: An officer responded to 1304 Ferguson Circle for a reported Carbon Monoxide Alarm sounding. Alliant Energy was contacted and determined the unit was defective and needed replaced.

6:08am: An officer is investigating a Hit & Run Accident, which occurred in the 300 Block of North Pinet Street. A 2014 Dodge Dart, owned by Brandon Bride of Jefferson was parked on the street. Damage was located in the morning to the vehicle. The officer is investigating.

9:20am: Bruce Banister spoke with an officer about a Civil Rental Property Issue.

1:22pm: A Traffic Stop was performed in the 100 Block of East Clark Street resulting in Nathan Aldrich of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”

5:07pm: Kelsey Reed advised she was walking her dog near Madison and Pinet Streets when a pup came running towards her. She was afraid the pup would become aggressive towards her animal. The officer spoke to the owner of the pup. Neither animal is current on City Animal License. The officer gave them a time period to comply with the ordinance.

5:31pm: An officer checked on a Business Alarm Activation at 1805 North Elm Street. The business was found to be secure.

6:20pm: An officer witnessed two juveniles blowing a handheld air horn at passing vehicles near Park and Elm Streets. The officer spoke to the pair about the dangers of their actions and confiscated the air horn for destruction.

7:38pm: A Traffic Stop was performed in the 600 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulting in Audrey Blougher-Mohr of Perry being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

Sunday, April 7th

9:55am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 400 Block of South Georgia to Charles Bradshaw for, “Parking Between the Lot Line and Curb Line.”

1:05am: A Traffic Stop performed at Cedar and Perry Streets resulted in Mary Jane Roper of Churdan being cited for, “Failure to Dim.”

10:19am: Melissa Smith spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Property Issue occurring at 304 East Lincoln Way Street.

10:30am: Dispatch received a 911 hang Up Call from a cell phone. Dispatch made contact with the phone owner and learned her grandchild had accidentally dialed 911. All was fine.

7:13pm: An officer captured and removed a juvenile wood duck from the basement of 404 East Washington Street and released it on a local body of water.

Monday, April 8th

2:57am: Mark Tasler advised someone was attempting to break into his apartment at 1000 West Adams Street. The officer arrived and checked the area. No evidence was located to show an attempt to gain entry was located.

8:39am: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice to Charles Bradshaw in the 400 Block of South Georgia for, “Parking Between Lot Line and Curb Line.”

9:06am: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Lincoln Way Street resulted in Roger Olhausen of Jefferson for, “Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.”

1:48pm: A caller advised of a subject driving a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement on his license. The officer located the subject at Subway and spoke with him about the call. The subject did have a valid license to operate a motorcycle.

2:56pm: Brenda Batschelet advised of a loose dog running freely near Grimmell Road and Washington Streets. The officers located the animal, but could not capture it.

4:19pm: A Traffic Stop was performed in the 300 Block of West Central Avenue resulting in Ryan Murphy of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”

6:55pm: Lois McAtee reported two juveniles down in the ravine behind 10 Park Avenue South, cutting trees and throwing them into the creek. The officer located the two and advised them and parents that this is private property and not to return.

8:06pm: Boone County advised of a Speeding Driver on 220th Street heading west towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

11:07pm: Lorie Pierson reported a suspicious subject sitting on the storm drain at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets. The officer spoke to the subject, who was awaiting a ride home after working at Subway.
