The home portion of the Greene County High School boys’ soccer season starts tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in Grand Junction vs. Grand View Christian (Des Moines). It’s one varsity match due to a lack of numbers at GVC.
The Rams are 2-0 with eight goals scored in wins vs. Humboldt and Carroll High. Head Coach Carl Behne talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the physical play at Carroll last Thursday, and how his players are recovering. “Certainly, the first week or two it’s getting everybody’s bodies used to the travel, the game, the recovery. We did have very physical game against Carroll. You could see every time we put up an extra goal on the scoreboard, the physicality seemed to ratchet up a little bit, I’m sure out of frustration, but we’re sitting pretty well. I think we will be without Isaiah (Losee) for one match at least. He got banged up a couple times on his head, so he’ll be out for precautionary reasons. Other than that we have some sore legs, and sore shoulders from hitting the (artificial) turf pretty hard, but I think everyone else will be ready to go on Tuesday.”
