The Greene County High School Music Department will be hosting the Iowa High School Music Association State Solo/Small Ensemble Contest tomorrow.

Choir Director David Heupel says there will be seven classrooms used, along with the cafeteria and Ram Restaurant throughout the day. As for Heupel’s choir students, there will be 16 solos, a trio, a madrigal choir and four chamber choirs competing. Band Director Wes Anderson adds that there are 18 solos and five ensembles entered.

In addition to Greene County, five other Class 3A high schools will be traveling to the high school in Jefferson, including: Perry, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Gilbert, Boone and Webster City. The public is encouraged to attend. A suggested donation is $3 for adults and $1 for students. The event will be from 8am to 5pm Saturday.
