Greene County residents can now access state and federal resources from flooding events that occurred earlier this month.

Governor Kim Reynolds recently added Greene County to her disaster proclamation, which allows residents to utilize the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Management Program. The Individual Assistance Grant Program provides up to $5,000 of grant funds to households up to 200-percent of the federal poverty level, or a maximum of $41,560 for a household of three. Funds can be used for home or car repairs, replacing clothing or food and temporary housing expenses. The grant application must be submitted within 45 days of the proclamation.

The Disaster Case Management Program addresses the serious need to overcome a disaster-related hardship, injury or adverse condition. The process includes creating a disaster recovery plan, case managers will also give advice and referral to obtain a service or resource. There are no income eligibility requirements and this program closes within 180 days of the proclamation.
