The Panora City Council will meet for a special session tonight.
The meeting will include discussion and possible action regarding authorizing City Administrator Lisa Grossman and Mayor Patrick Parker to execute contracts to address the imminent danger to the Lenon Mill Dam. A flood-caused breach was discovered at the east side of the dam last weekend, which could impact the City’s water source. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources, who owns the dam, and the city’s engineer recommend the breech be fixed as soon as possible, according to Grossman.
The Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.
