Some unemployment rates in the Raccoon River Valley area saw a slight decrease last month.
According to Iowa Workforce Development, Dallas County had a 0.3-percent drop in unemployment from January to February to 1.9-percent. Guthrie County saw a 0.1-percent decrease over the same time period to 3.6-percent and Greene County remained the same at 2.2-percent unemployment in February.
The county in the state with the highest unemployment rate for February was Marshall County with 5.9-percent. The county with the lowest rate last month was Story County at 1.4-percent. Statewide the unemployment rate remained the same from January to February at 2.4-percent and the national unemployment rate for February was 3.8-percent.
