A reminder that today is a special discussion on human slavery and trafficking taking place in Jefferson.

Kevin Schwendinger of Dubuque, who is an associate of the Tri-State Coalition Against Human Slavery and Trafficking in Dubuque, will be at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson from 2 to 3:30pm. He will lead a discussion on human trafficking and the effects it has on society and today’s culture. Schwendinger was in Jefferson last summer as he made a 650-mile trip from Omaha, Nebraska to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on his bicycle, stopping at various locations to give human trafficking talks to several groups and organizations.

The event today is free and open to the public.
