Preparation for the Perry Sesquicentennial Celebration is underway, and the planning committee is still looking for submissions to their design contest.
The event’s theme is “Rails to Trails: 150 Years of Growth,” and the chosen logo will be used for an assortment of merchandise. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the committee extended the original deadline, but they can no longer wait. “To start printing t-shirts and doing things like that, we needed some kind of design. So we thought, ‘(We) might as well open it up as a contest!’ We had a few submissions last month, but we decided to just go ahead and extend it (to) try to give people a little bit more time and submit some more.”
The deadline to submit designs is this Tuesday at noon. Pasutti says that’s a hard deadline, because the Sesquicentennial Planning Committee will be meeting at that time to select the design they’ll be using. Entries can be dropped off at the Chamber Office or submitted via email to PerryChamber@perryia.org.
