A recently renovated Guthrie Center storefront will be occupied this summer.

Pearls & Lace Country Boutique, a women’s clothing store currently located east of Casey’s General Store in Guthrie Center will be moving west downtown to the central space in the Williams Building. The building is owned by Main Street Guthrie Center, who reconstructed the three first floor storefronts that also house Central Iowa Family EyeCare and Genesis Development. Main Street Guthrie Center Director Dana Buster says the group is now working to complete renovations of 407 State Street to fit the needs of Pearls & Lace Owner Erika Govig, “We are hoping to have that all wrapped up and have Erika moved in there this summer by July. So it’s really exciting and we’re really happy for her to be expanding her business, that’s great for her. And great for us because just more shopping downtown for people.”

An open date for the new Pearls & Lace location has not been set, but Govig will gain possession on July 1st. Main Street Guthrie Center plans to renovate the second and third floors of the Williams Building for future housing.
