Three residents in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area were recently announced as appointments to Iowa’s boards and commissions.
Governor Kim Reynolds (R) announced that Maria Sorensen of Greenfield, wife of State Representative Ray Sorensen (R), has been appointed to the Mental Health and Disability Services Commission. Maria says, “I’m so incredibly grateful to be appointed to the Mental Health and Disability Board. After losing my brother, who struggled with those sorts of issues, I hope to make a positive impact for others in his honor.” Additionally, Micki Sandquist of Adel was appointed to the Commission on Tobacco Use Prevention and Control and Ralph Lents of Menlo was appointed to the Environmental Protection Commission. All appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
