The Greene County Historical Society is having its second Sunday program of the year this weekend.
The program will focus on saving, renovating and redeveloping of historic buildings on the downtown square in Jefferson. Leading the program will be Jefferson Building Official Nick Sorensen. He will talk specifically about three current buildings the City of Jefferson currently owns with “City View on State Street” at the corner of State and Chestnut streets; “Harness Shop” at 205 North Wilson Avenue; and “The Arcade” at the former Pizza Ranch building. Sorensen has been in his current position since 2015 and has worked with government officials and Jefferson Matters: Main Street to pull funding and other resources to help save and renovate buildings around the square.
The free program will take place in the rotunda of the Greene County Courthouse at 2pm on Sunday. Free refreshments will also be served.
