The Iowa High School Speech Association State Individual Contest is this weekend.
Greene County and Paton-Churdan will send several students to compete at Nevada High School on Saturday. Greene County students competing include Natalie Payan in poetry and prose, Naomi Long in poetry, Arthur Bardole in literary program and musical theater, Morrgan Zmolek in literary program and acting, Eliot Schilling in literary program, Claire Teusch in storytelling and musical theater, Maezie Holderby in expository, Demir Bulut in spontaneous speaking and Jordan Davis in radio news and prose.
Paton-Churdan will have Kyla Beyers in prose and literary program, Carter Meseck in radio news, Megan Carey in storytelling and prose, Karissa Stephenson in prose, Hannah Bundt in literary program and poetry, Madi Minnehan in musical theatre and poetry, and Briana Jewett in musical theatre and poetry.
Students qualified by earning a Division I-rating at the district competition. The public is encouraged to attend the state contest with a $3 suggested admission charge.
