ADMThe ADM volleyball team continued with its winning ways last night, sweeping Carlisle on the road to remain unbeaten in Raccoon River Conference play.

The Tigers dominated game one, winning it easily 25-11.  The next two games were more closely contested for coach Mary Beth Scott and her girls, but each ended in 25-17 wins.

ADM gets a break from head-to-head conference action tomorrow.  The Tigers will travel to the far east for an invitational at Dubuque Hempstead High School.

Scott says this particular tournament is always a good experience for her team because it prepares them for the competitive playoff season on the horizon.

“I tell you, when we come back that next week, typically we are running a faster offense.  The girls are on ball, they’re used to having to step it up.  So, even though record-wise Dubuque doesn’t help us, play-wise it just elevates us and helps us to improve.”

Scott says the Dubuque road trip isn’t all about volleyball for her players.  They like to have a little fun too.

“We do some other things when we’re in Dubuque.  We go out to dinner as a team.  We do a fun activity–we take them to the 4th Street Elevator, and introduce things to the younger players that have never been there with us.  So there’s some unique things that we do when we’re there.”

After the reprieve from conference play this weekend, the Tigers will be back in the heart of their schedule against Winterset next Tuesday.  A win on the road in that match would move their conference record to 5-0 on the season.
