Guthrie County area businesses are invited to garner interest from high school students and parents at an Adult Career Fair next week.
Midwest Partnership of Stuart and IowaWorks of Carroll are hosting the fair in the Panorama High School gym on Thursday March 7th from 4-6:30 p.m. There is no cost for businesses to host a booth, and there is still space available for anyone wanting to join and discuss current job opportunities as well as part-time, student, or seasonal work available. Panora Chamber of Commerce Vice President and Manager of Lakeside Village in Panora Amanda Creen shares the impact of taking part in the fair, “We were successful last year in finding a full-time employee who’s still with us this year so I feel like for the businesses even if you find that one employee that’s going to stick with you it’s worth it to host a booth. They don’t charge us to host the booth. It’s also a great time to work with the high school kids and teach them about interview skills and how to fill out an application and all that great stuff they’re going to need to know to be on their own someday.”
The Adult Career Fair is open to all area students and parents. If your business would like to take part, click here. To hear more from Creen, listen to today’s monthly Panora Chamber Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
