All communities in Greene County have announced who will be on their respective ballots for mayor and city council candidates for the November elections.

There are six mayoral seats open, with the exception of Jefferson, with all incumbents seeking another term and are running unopposed.

As for the council members, there are several up for election.  For the Jefferson City Council, longtime councilman Larry Teeples is running unopposed for District 1, while current councilman Bill Figenshaw is not seeking another term for District 3, leaving his spot open for potential newcomers Matthew Roberts or Harry Ahrenholtz to take that seat.  Gary Von Ahsen is seeking re-election for the At-Large seat along with Brandon Gustoff.

One other big change to a council’s makeup is in the City of Paton.  There are two seats open and neither current council members Matt Fox or Diane Hanlon are running, which means those seats will be filled by write-in candidates.
