The Panorama boys basketball team made their way to Ames Tuesday night for a chance at the Class 2A District 13 title. Unfortunately the Panthers left without the title and spot in Saturday’s substate round after a 29-58 thumping against Des Moines Christian.

The Lions led the entire way, extending a 24 point advantage at the half to close out district play. Junior Curran Ingram led all scores with 19 for the Lions, while classmate Seth Juhl and sophomore Spencer Hixson added nine each for DMC. The Lions poured in nine three-pointers to help lift them over Panorama.

In his final appearance for the Panthers, senior Gracen Welberg led the team with ten points. Junior Kolby Shackelford also converted three three-pointers for nine points. The Panthers were victorious in eight of their last ten matches coming into Tuesday’s contest. In addition to Welberg, Trey Cobb and Jared Wasson played their final basketball game for the Panthers.

The Panthers finish their season at 13-11.
