The Division I college career is off to a good start for 2016 Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tiger graduate Molly Jacobsen. Nine games into her pitching career at the University of Mississippi and Jacobsen has already thrown 17 full innings for the Rebels. She’s registered a 2-0 overall record, and one save during her three appearances in the circle. Jacobsen’s lone earned run allowed came in her Rebels debut against then No. 21 Minnesota on February 9, topping the Gophers, 4-1. She recorded a three-inning save on February 15 against Cal-Poly Mustangs, helping Ole Miss to a 5-2 victory. Her latest outing came Saturday against Oregon State. Jacobsen threw a complete game shut out in a 2-0 win over the previously unbeaten Beavers at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. She’s fanned 16 total batters and posts an earned run average of 0.41. The University of Mississippi Softball team resumes their season in Austin, Texas Friday in the Texas Invitational hosted by the University of Texas Longhorns. The Rebels will play five games total, starting against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at 11 a.m. Friday.
