This April, it’ll be 85 years since famed criminals Bonnie and Clyde robbed the former First National Bank in Stuart, and residents will get to run their famed route through town in a new event.

The Stuart Chamber of Commerce Revitalization Group is hosting its inaugural Bonnie and Clyde 5 Mile Run/Walk on April 13th. Participants will start at the Dexter Roundhouse and run down White Pole Road to the former bank, which is now Simply Hair by Melissa in downtown Stuart. Chamber President Kristy Lonsdale says the Revitalization Group is looking for sponsors for the event, “Right now I think they’re kind of looking for anybody that might want to be a sponsor to help out because there will be t-shirts, they’re going to have mugs to give out, they’re going to have recognition as far as ribbons and trophies so we’re hoping to really make this a big event that will happen every year.”

Sponsor commitments must be made by March 1st, and all funds raised from the event will be utilized for future events for residents and visitors to the Stuart Area. You can reach out to sponsor by emailing stuartrevitalization@gmail.com or by reaching out to one of the following group members:
