Beef producers interested in finding ways to modify their operation to control costs, optimize feed utilization and improve profitability are invited to a workshop being hosted by the Iowa Beef Center and ISU Extension and Outreach.
This event will tour the operation of Curtis, Mollie, and Mike Clark in Guthrie Center. The Clarks participated in a study conducted by the Iowa Beef Center, researching best management practices for cow production systems. The workshop will show production cost comparisons, feed quality results, health concerns, and other collected information. Attendance is free thanks to sponsorship from Iowa Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Services of America, and the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture. The workshop will be held February 20th, and preregistration is due Friday. For more questions on the project or workshop, contact Extension Beef Specialist Erika Lundy at 641-743-8412 or 641-745-5902. To preregister call the Iowa Beef Center at 515-294-BEEF (2333). Please leave your name, phone number and email address, along with the location you plan to attend. You also can email beefcenter@iastate.edu and provide the same information.
