An Ida Grove man has been sentenced to jail for a December incident in Greene County District Court.

According to court documents, 30-year-old Joshua Ackerson entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent. He was sentenced to 60 days in the Greene County Jail with credit for time already served.

The charge stems from a December 5, 2018 incident. Ackerson stole a vehicle in the 200 block of Cartwright Street in Rippey, which was later found by local authorities in Audubon County. Ackerson was originally charged with a felony for theft. Ackerson was also ordered by pay surcharges, court-appointed attorney fees, victim restitution and court costs.
