The Adel City Council will convene Tuesday evening in regular session.
The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of costs for the upcoming storm water utility improvement project on North 15th Street. Following the hearing, the Council will consider approval of a resolution regarding the topic. Also in new business, they will discuss a funding request of $22,500 from the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce for the coming fiscal year. The Council will also consider a vehicle purchase request from the police department, which would allow the transfer of a current vehicle to the fire department. After that, they will consider a request from the Parks and Recreation Department to purchase two acres of land near Evans Park.
Other items on the agenda include: a possible moratorium on pole signs for new construction; appointing a representative and alternate to the Dallas County Emergency Management Commission; an agreement with Local Government Professional Service, Inc for codification services; a pay application and budget transfer; and an appointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Finally, the Council will set the date for a public hearing to present the fiscal year 2019-20 City budget. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at Adel City Hall.
