Thursday, February 7th
10:02am: The US Postal Service requested a Welfare Check on a Jefferson female that had not shown up for work and could not be reached by phone. The officer checked and found the female was not at home. She contacted her employer a short time later and advised she was fine.
11:00am: Melanie Moore advised officers she had fallen victim to a phone scam. She had placed money on “Google Play” Cards as instructed by the caller. The scam is basically untraceable. Moore was sent to the Iowa Attorney’s Office for assistance.
11:31am: An officer spoke with a semi driver, who has been parking his truck on the street in the 800 Block of West Lincoln Way. City Ordinance only allows this to occur for a period of two hours.
1:43pm: An officer assisted the Juvenile Court Officer by gathering a Urine Collection Kit from a juvenile at the courthouse.
3:44pm: The GCMC ER requested an officer at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street to speak with a juvenile patient about possible threats made by a parent.
11:11pm: An officer checked the area of 209 East Gallop Road after dispatch received a 911 Hang Up Call from the area. The officer did not locate anyone needing assistance.
******* Officers issued 24 “Snow Emergency Parking Violations” during this reporting period.
