The regular season ended on a positive note Thursday night for the West Central Valley Wildcats varsity girls basketball team (5-15 overall). Behind a combined 32 points from sisters Michaela and Madelyn Jaeger helped West Central Valley snap a five-game overall losing streak, topping the AC/GC Chargers, 49-34. West Central Valley built a 42-20 lead after three quarters before they were outscored 14-7 in last eight minutes. Senior Jadeyn Carrick led AC/GC in scoring with 11 points. West Central Valley improves to 5-15 overall with the win; AC/GC falls to 9-12 overall with the loss. Both West Central Valley and AC/GC start their postseason run on the road tomorrow in the Class 2A Region 7 tournament. The Wildcats open their playoff period against the Earlham Cardinals while the Chargers begin their postseason journey against Southeast Valley.
