Guthrie County Extension and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources are partnering again for a “Schools Out!” Day Camp on Monday, February 18th.
This month’s day camp, titled “Avian Adventures,” will take place at Springbrook State Park’s Visitor Center. Those in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to take birdwatching to the next level. Attendees will discover physical and behavioral adaptations that avians possess, sharpen their bird identification skills, learn how to use binoculars, and make a bird feeder to take home. Avian Adventures lasts from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and cost is $5. Snacks and supplies will be provided and participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.
