A wintery mix could impact driving conditions over the next couple of days in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties from noon Wednesday until noon on Thursday. Hazards with the advisory include freezing drizzle turning into freezing rain throughout the day today. There is also the possibility of snowfall overnight tonight and going into tomorrow morning. Our primary coverage area could see as much as two-inches of snowfall and up to 0.10-inches of ice accumulation. Wind gusts as high as 35-miles-per-hour are also expected with the advisory.
The National Weather Service anticipates bitterly cold temperatures to return on Friday with wind chills reaching as low as 29 degrees below zero.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution and to the condition of the roads. The one to count on for winter weather information is the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
