Winter weather late last month led to a unique three-day game slate for the Panorama Panthers girls basketball team. Weather permitting, Class 2A’s No. 7 ranked squad will play three road games in a row, starting tonight in Stuart against West Central Activites Conference rival and Guthrie County neighbor West Central Valley. With this weekend marking the start of the regional basketball tournament, Panorama and Ogden will try one more time to get their second league contest played this Wednesday afternoon starting at 4:30 p.m. from Ogden High School. The three-game road swing ends Thursday in a nonconference showdown against the Martensdale-St Mary’s Blue Devils. Panorama head girls basketball coach Dan Druivenga says all three games pose different challenges for his team including tonight’s game at West Central Valley. “(It’s) always tough to play down there,” Druivenga said, “(Coach) Drew (Stonewall) does a great job of getting his girls prepared for us. It’ll be a battle.”

Panorama’s won 17 of their first 18 games this winter, including six in a row. The Panthers topped West Central Valley, 62-30, on January 4 in Panora. Tonight’s West Central Activities Conference varsity doubleheader between Panorama and West Central Valley starts at 6 p.m. with the girls’ contest, and the boys game will follow from West Central Valley High School in Stuart.
