The Jefferson-Scranton School Board of Directors met last night.

The re-elected members were given their Oath of Offices for the 2013-14 school board which were Teresa Hagen, David Ohrt and Mark Peters.  Peters was appointed as president of the Board and Jeff Lamoureux as vice-president.  Hagen was selected as the delegate to the Iowa Association of School Boards.

The Board approved several items.  The regular board meetings will continue to be the third Wednesday of every month with the exception of November with the meeting on Monday, the 18th at 5:15pm in the South Grade Building in Jefferson.  The 2012-13 certified annual report, the transportation report, and allowable growth request for a $254,809 deficit in special education cost were all approved.

The Board also approved sharing third grade East Greene teacher Nancy Kaufman as a fourth grade teacher in Jefferson and also the 2013-14 Title I applications were approved.

A student housing construction report was made to the Board.  High school industrial technologies teacher Chuck Wenthold told the Board that there are eight students taking the class and that they on track to finish the current housing project by the end of the second trimester.
