Guthrie Center Communications is having its 12th annual customer appreciation open house tomorrow from 10am to 3pm.  Customers can get their hands on refreshments and some famous Ila’s pies.

Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce President Geri Thompson says such events show how much local businesses care about the people they provide services to.

“We appreciate our customers.  We are here, we have a local presence, and we want to be able to help our customers.  Any questions they have, any needs they have that we can help them out with–that’s what we’re here for.”

Thompson says the Chamber has more activity on the horizon.  In its September meeting last week, the Chamber began planning on Guthrie Center’s Fall Festival, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 26th.

“That is for the community to come out and have a fun day for the kids.  We grill hamburgers and have chips and a drink for a very low amount of money.  It’s just a fun day to bring the kids out and enjoy the day.”

Thompson says the Chamber is also in the midst of scheduling a trick-or-treat night for local kids during Halloween time.

Plans for each of these nights will be officially set in stone at the Chamber’s next meeting, which is set for noon on Tuesday, October 8th, at Prime Time Restaurant.
