The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The meeting began with the Board hiring Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. Seely as a part-time paramedic for the Emergency Medical Services Department. The hiring is contingent on official approval from the County Emergency Management Commission. Next, the Supervisors approved the receipt and file of the Fifth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services fiscal year 2017-18 audit, as well as the 2018 annual report. The Board then approved the appointment of Samantha Uhlenhake to the County Board of Health, with her term expiring on December 31, 2020. The appointment filled the final vacancy on the Board of Health.
Following that, Supervisor Kim Chapman gave an update on the HIRTA provider services for the County. The HIRTA Board approved moving Dallas County from contracted services to direct provider services, which will become effective on July 1st of this year. It’s currently unknown what effect the decision will have on the County’s Homecare Services. Supervisor Mark Hanson then gave an update on the North Raccoon River Watershed Management Coalition. (Supervisor Mark) Hanson also talked about the hiring committee in charge of finding a new County Human Resources Director, which will likely be conducting interviews for the position in February. The meeting concluded with a budget workshop.
