The final wrestling dual meets of the 2018-19 season are tomorrow night in Perry for Coach Zach Beekman’s Greene County Rams. The Rams weren’t able to practice last Friday or yesterday due to the weather forecast, but they did get a workout in Monday, and will today as well.

Coach Beekman’s team has clinched a winning season at 17-8 in dual meets. He talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the competition level in Perry where the Rams see Humboldt from the North Central Conference, as well as Ballard (Huxley) and the Blue Jays, both from the Raccoon River. “That’s going to be tough. You’ve got State Tournament finalists there, plus others with State experience, and overall, some very good wrestlers. Then, we go to the ACGC Tournament on Saturday to end the regular season and that tournament always has some outstanding individuals.”

The Rams will have a week away from competition after the ACGC tourney on Jan. 26 until they go to Ida Grove for a Class 2A Sectional Tournament along with number 10 ranked Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Atlantic, Harlan, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) and the host OABCIG Falcons.
