A Scranton man faces several felony charges for a couple of November 2018 incidents.

According to court documents, 36-year-old Christopher Quirk is charged with Class D Felonies for second degree theft and two counts of forgery, and an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree burglary. The charges stem from an investigation when Quirk allegedly stole two checks from the victim’s truck from his property in Scranton.

Court documents show both checks were cashed at Peoples Bank in Jefferson. One check was cashed for $715 and the other for $690. One was cashed on November 9th and the other on the 10th. Both incidents, the bank tellers made photo copies of Quirk’s driver’s license, but he used the victim’s name on the checks. Video surveillance of Quirk at the bank and drive-up windows was also obtained by law enforcement during the investigation.

Quirk was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail. He was later released on his own recognizance. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
