The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

The meeting began with an assortment of budget funding requests. First, the Library Association presented their statistics from 2018, and asked for the same funding that they received last year. Next, the Fair Board requested a $10,000 increase in funding, which they said would go towards bringing in better entertainment for the County Fair. Discover Dallas County Tourism and Homecare Services also requested the same amount they received last year, while the Housing Trust Fund Authority asked for $9,937, which represents $1 per person living in unincorporated Dallas County. The Board took no action on any of the requests, but will consider them while creating the 2019 budget.

After that, the Supervisors approved the transfer of control of Drainage District #62 to the City of Perry, as the City now possesses 32% of the district. Next, they approved a contract with Snyder and Associates of Ankeny for survey work on the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Redfield, as well as a power study agreement with MidAmerican Energy for the law enforcement center. The meeting concluded with a budget workshop.
