The Guthrie Center School Board met in regular session Monday.
The meeting began with discussion and approval of the district’s five-year facility plan. Top priorities included individual roof needs to be examined annually, upgrades to the high school and superintendent offices, and some classroom and door upgrades in the elementary and high school buildings. The second priority on the list was a resurfacing of the high school track, which the Board approved an estimate of $61,082 from Fisher Tracks Inc. for the work to completed this summer. The Board also discussed plans for the final interviews to be done with the three superintendent finalists this Wednesday. The finalists are Shane Christensen, Kurt DeVore, and Dennis McClain. The joint Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center School Boards are expected to announce their superintendent hire that night. Finally, the Board chose their next regular meeting date for February 25th.
