All third through eighth graders are invited to a free activity at the Jefferson Public Library tomorrow.

The library is hosting an ARTistic Book Journal workshop from 4 to 5:30pm in the children’s department. Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says the goal of the activity is to take an older book and repurpose it as a journal.

“So it’s a book that’s been put down in our basement for our book sale. We have all kinds of craft supplies. So they can decorate the books and the covers of their pages, and they can paint on the pages and marker (them). And they turn them into personal journals so they can write their own thoughts and ideas in it. We had some children that did throughout the whole year last year and finished their book. So it’s just kind of a neat way to repurpose a book and give new life to an old book.”

The class is free and snacks will be provided. No pre-registration is necessary.
