Guthrie County is one of several Farm Service Agency offices that have temporarily reopened to serve farmers in the ongoing federal government shutdown.
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced Wednesday that 2,500 FSA employees would open offices yesterday and today as well as Tuesday, January 22nd during normal business hours. FSA staff will be available to assist agricultural producers with existing farm loans and ensure the agency provides 1099 tax documents to borrowers by the Internal Revenue Service’s deadline.
