A Perry man was arrested Saturday evening on misdemeanor charges, after a domestic dispute turned into an OWI.
According to the Perry Police Department, officers were called to a domestic disturbance at around 8 p.m. Saturday. Upon arriving at the scene, the suspect, 35-year-old Freddie Dalton of Perry, had already left in his minivan. He was then spotted by a Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputy while travelling west on Willis Avenue. The deputy attempted to pull him over, and Dalton then reportedly jumped the curb at the corner of Willis and 8th Street and came to a stop. He was then arrested and charged with serious misdemeanors for domestic abuse assault – injury or mental illness – first offense, and OWI, first offense. He was also charged with a simple misdemeanor for driving under suspension.
Dalton was booked into the Dallas County Jail, but has since been released. The incident is currently under investigation by the Perry Police Department. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
