PGSA Softball

The 2019 Perry Parks and Recreation and Perry Girls Softball Association (PGSA) spring softball league is getting closer, but before it can start the organizers invite kids and families to attend the upcoming open house.

The event will be held this Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Perry Elementary gymnasium. Attendees can learn all about the league, and register their children. The cost to compete this year is $40 per player for the U8 – U12 leagues, though there will be discounts for families with multiple siblings who wish to play. All registered players will receive a free personalized water bottle, and they’ll be able to select some pieces of equipment donated by the community. The PGSA is also looking for coaches for the league, and anyone interested can also stop by the open house. Practices will begin April 1st.

Additionally, there will be a series of softball clinics starting the same day as the open house and running each Sunday through February 10th. The focus will be on the game as a whole and developing basic skills. Each of the clinics will be held at 4 p.m. at Perry Elementary. For more information on the PGSA, reach out to head organizer Andrea Tunink at 515-360-3358 or Assistant Parks and Rec Director Becky Halling at 515-465-5621.
