West Central Valley opened the doors to its brand new football stadium Friday night for the first Wildcat football game, and Athletic Director Todd Broman says the night was a memorable celebration for the community.
Despite the pregame ceremony and kick-off being delayed an hour due to the hot temperatures, Broman says people were really impressed with the stadium’s unveiling.
“It was so exciting, just walking out there and looking at the facility, especially at night with all the lights shining around it–I had someone comment to me that our facility looks better than some Division III college stadiums. It was just beautiful; it was just really exciting to show it off to everybody.”
Broman says the next step in the athletic complex construction process is to get the track surface sprayed and painted before the Homecoming game on September 27th.
Broman says there will also be some work done on stadium speakers that sounded dead during the game Friday. West Central Valley started the season off with a big victory, dismantling Clarke of Osceola 46 to 7.
