guthrie county fairGuthrie County Fair, edition 155 is officially complete, and this year’s event was as successful as always according to Fair Board Director-at-Large Grant Sheeder.

Sheeder says day-time attendance numbers seemed to be down compared with years past due to the heat, but by the time evening came around, fairgoers were out in bunches to take in the sites and activities.

The big event at this year’s fair was the performance of Randy Houser, a top-flight country star with a number one record.  Sheeder was responsible for booking Houser to perform at the fair, and he says the concert was a big hit.

“Very, very high energy from start to finish.  Our sound guys even said it was the most rockin’ country show they’ve ever seen and they’re 20 plus years of expertise.  It was a really good turnout, everybody had a blast as far as I know.”

Sheeder says he hopes to have a big rock concert next year to complement country night for those who aren’t fans of country.

Rendition 156 of the Guthrie County Fair will be back next year, as usual, on Labor Day Weekend.
