There are a few deadlines coming up for some fall activities at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson.
5-12 year-olds can still sign up for youth soccer to learn the basic fundamentals while improving teamwork abilities. The U6 program will be on Mondays from September 16-October 14th from 5:30-6:30pm at Kelso Park. Registrations are due by Friday, September 6th.
September 6th is also the deadline to signup for mini cheerleading. Children pre-kindergarten through fifth grade will learn jumps and routines during a two-day class on Monday, September 9th and Thursday, September 12th at the Jefferson-Scranton Elementary building from 3-5pm.
Lautner talks about what the kids will earn at the end of the classes.
“And the participants will cheer at the beginning of the (football) game on Friday, September 13th. And that’s always a fun time for the kids, girls and boys, to be out there cheering. There’s a rule that kids can not be on the field when the game starts so that’s why we cheer before the game and then they go back to their seats.”
Both programs registrations are due by Friday, September 6th. Call the rec center for more information at 386-3412.
