The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday.
County Assessor Linda Spearman presented to the Board a few proposals from other counties about updating their websites. It was brought to the attention to the Board that an update was needed and that it happened been updated in almost a decade from when the last program was installed. It was decided by the Board to make requests for proposals to send to other website companies, keeping in mind that each department head can update information on their own and they don’t have to go through the Assessor’s Office.
The Board also approved the renewal of the Westlaw Contract at $863/month for the county attorney to receive updated online books to keep the law library current and the hiring of Shawn Olson as part-time communications operator at $10/hour until certification is finalized to move it up to $10.50/hour.
County Engineer Wade Weiss updated the Board on a few different projects. A potential new facility is looking to locate on a gravel road about one half mile west of Highway 144 that could create 30-40 new jobs. The Supervisors gave permission to allow for a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy to convert the pre-existing gravel road into a paved road for the potential facility.
He also told the Board that he anticipates the completion of the County Road E-57 bridge to be done within the next three weeks.
