We are down to the last month of the Greene County Farmer’s Market.

Organizer Chris Henning says there are new things all the time at the market including last Tuesday despite the heat, the public enjoyed a couple new items.

“John 15 (Vineyard) brought their grapes for the first time, they had fredonia grapes and Deal’s (Orchard) had the first of their apple cider.  We’re looking to add (a) pepper’s market.  It’s time for hot peppers and mild peppers and whatever.”

She notes that they’ve steadily had 10 vendors at every market plus the Mahanay Bell Tower is air conditioned and open for the public to take advantage of and people can go to the Greene County Historical Museum every Tuesday night the market is open.

There will be four more markets, including tonight, from 4-6:30pm on the east side of the county courthouse in Jefferson.
