guthrie county sheriffSheriff Marty Arganbright and his department are busy enough reporting to accident scenes and keeping the public safe on a day-to-day basis.  And now they’re regularly dealing with technological changes too.

The department recently switched exclusively to digital, paperless case filing in order to make all cases accessible via the computer.  The sheriff and deputies are also getting used to new smart phones, which they use 24/7.

Arganbright says it’s always interesting dealing with the new technology, but it helps.

“It’s always changing, and although there’s some cost there, we try to stay up with the changes and utilize the new technology to do our jobs.  We can utilize the cell phone and it takes tremendous pictures, accident pictures, and for communications among the deputies and with our dispatch.  All the new tools help us do our job.”

Chief Deputy Jeremy Bennett agrees that the new smart phones are a big help for the department, especially when it is investigating a crime scene.  Having access to information through their phone prevents officials from having to return to their cars, making the investigation process easier and more efficient.
