Sunday not only marks the start of a new month but is also belongs to the dogs at the Jefferson Municipal Pool.
The annual Doggie Paddle Day will be at the pool from 5:30-7:30pm. It’s chance for dogs and their pet owners to swim in the pool as a celebration of the end of the pool season.
Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner talks about the event and that the admission fee will go back to the Animal Protection and Education Shelter in Paton.
“You pay a dollar per paw. The money that we make goes to the APE program in Paton and Linn Price is responsible for that program. They do prizes and they have contests and all kinds of fun little things but your dog can get in and swim, you can swim with your dog just whatever you want to do, you can do.”
There’s no registration required and the pool will officially close for the year at the end of the event.
