The Perry Municipal Airport will get some help from the state as they make development and infrastructure improvements.
The Iowa Transportation Commission announced has approved $5.9 million for the fiscal year 2014 State Aviation Program.
Perry will receive $11,200 in funding for the $16,000 runway pavement maintenance project and $150,000 toward the construction of a 45-by-100 foot hanger which is expected to cost a total of $422,375.
The Airport Improvement Program 26 different projects during the current fiscal year, while the vertical infrastructure programs will help fund projects at 10 general aviation airports in the state.
The State Aviation Program supplements local and federal funding sources with the goal of maintaining a safe and balanced statewide air transportation system.
