Even though it’s summertime and school isn’t in session, it is still a busy time for the Perry Community School District.
Several projects are in the work now, to make sure things are even better for kids when they return in the fall.
Among the projects in progress are improvements to the middle school gymnasium, new chillers at the high school and the replacement of two heat pumps at the elementary school.
Superintendent Lynn Ubben she says the reason the bulk of the heat pump project will have to wait is because of lag time and the fact that the project couldn’t be finished yet this summer.
Current projects will cost around $400,000 with the remainder being spent after the heat pump project is rebid in the spring.
